Rogelio is an Environmental Engineering PhD candidate at the University of California, Davis, USA, currently conducting research at the Singapore Centre for Environmental Life Sciences Engineering (SCELSE), Singapore. His area of focus is on wastewater treatment, specifically on enhanced biological phosphorus removal (EBPR) in tropical climate, where he is passionate about the engineering and microbiology aspects of the treatment process. He has experience conducting research in full- and lab-scale wastewater treatment reactors, as well as in the wastewater treatment industry, where he was a project engineer in the design of wastewater treatment plants before starting his PhD. Rogelio holds an MS in Environmental Engineering from UC Davis, an MSc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Manchester, UK, and a BSc in Industrial Engineering from the Universidad Iberoamericana, Mexico. In his spare time, Rogelio enjoys traveling, diving, doing sports and trying out new food.
