Gayathri earned her PhD in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from National University of Singapore. Her thesis focused on biological recovery of precious metals from e-waste. At SCELSE, she works as a bioprocess research fellow in a multidisciplinary team studying anaerobic ammonium oxidation for nitrogen removal from waste water through biochemical and molecular approaches. Outside work, she has a keen interest in in travelling, cooking, philosophy, parenting and the application and future of new inventions.
