Abeed did her MS in Chemical Engineering at Universiti Malaysia Pahang. She started in SCELSE in 2014 as a research associate in a project to develop a novel bioelectrochemical sensor for the detection of volatile organic compounds in sewer networks. Here she assisted research fellows in studying the effect of volatile organic compound addition on E. coli clones by conducting gene promoter-fused GFP assays. Presently, she participates in research on anaerobic digester performance under extreme stress conditions. She is in charge of routine digester maintenance and physicochemical as well as analytical studies. Outside the lab, she loves watching movies and reading novels.
